Botox/Dysport “Wrinkle Relaxers”
What is Botox / Dsyport?
Botox and Dysport are both neuromodulators. Neuromodulator injections reduce activity in the facial muscles that create wrinkles. There are dynamic and static wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are seen during facial movement. Static wrinkles are etched into the skin and always present. Neuromodulators prevent dynamic wrinkles from becoming static. It is easier to prevent, then correct.
Where can they treat?
- Horizontal lines on the Forehead
- Frown lines between the eyebrows – “11s”
- Crow’s feet – wrinkles around the eyes
- Vertical lines around the mouth – “smoker’s lines”
- Down turned mouth
- Dimpled Chin
- “Bunny lines” on nose
- Vertical Bands in the front of the neck
How long is the treatment?
You can expect your first treatment to take 30 minutes. The initial consultation includes a plan as to what your concerns and goals are, as well as a medical history review. The injections take about 10 minutes.
Will anyone tell I’ve had a treatment?
You can return to home or work without obvious signs of treatment. Many clients come for treatment on their lunch break. You may have tiny red dots, like a mosquito bite, afterwards. They will fade over the first few hours. There is always a slight chance of bruising. You can apply makeup right after a treatment.
How long does it take to see results?
You can begin to notice results after 5 days. You can see the full effect at 2 weeks. A follow up appointment is scheduled then. Your results are assessed, and touch ups done as needed.
How long do the results last?
Duration of results depends on how frequently the muscle treated is used. Typically, results can last 3 months. Some areas, like around the mouth, last 2 months. Results are not linear. They gradually decrease over time, and the treatment needs to be repeated.
Will I look frozen?
You should look restful and refreshed, when performed by a well-trained health care professional like Sandra or Natalie. You will have facial movement, without targeted wrinkles. We believe in a natural-looking approach to medical aesthetics.
What is the difference between a Neuromodulator and Filler?
A Neuromodulator reduces muscle activity that creates dynamic wrinkles. Facial Fillers replace lost volume that occurs during the aging process. Facial fillers can provide some lift and plump the skin.
